Woman arrested at Indiana Applebee’s after argument over All You Can Eat deal
A misunderstanding over an “All You Can Eat” deal recently escalated into a heated confrontation, resulting in the arrest of a woman at an Applebee’s restaurant in Portage, Indiana.
Shawneesha Cobbs, 28, was charged with disorderly conduct following an incident on August 2nd, when she and her dining companions believed that the $15.99 “All You Can Eat” menu was intended to feed the entire group.
The promotion, however, is clearly intended for individual diners—a detail that the group seemed to overlook, leading to a disagreement with the restaurant’s staff.
According to police reports, the confusion began when Cobbs and her group insisted that the menu did not clearly specify the deal was per person. However, when officers arrived at the scene, they found that the menu indeed clarified that the offer was for individual customers only.
The situation intensified as Cobbs reportedly began arguing with staff members and other patrons. Tensions escalated further when Cobbs allegedly confronted other diners as they were leaving the restaurant, possibly due to a prior disagreement.
Cobbs later claimed that the restaurant manager had acted “unprofessionally” toward her during the incident. Despite this claim, the situation culminated in her arrest, and she was subsequently taken to the Porter County Jail.
Fortunately for the restaurant, another member of Cobbs’ party stepped forward to pay the bill in full, bringing the chaotic scene to a close.
