Pennsylvania Woman Lied About Man Attempting to Rape and Kidnap Her Because He Looked ‘Creepy,’ Gets Him Prisoned For 31 Days
A 20-year-old woman, Anjela Borisova Urumova of Bristol Township, was charged on Monday, May 20, 2024, with filing a false police report about an attempted rape and kidnapping in the parking lot of Redner’s in Middletown Township last month.
Urumova faces charges including one count each of false alarm to an agency of public safety and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, two counts of false reports, and three counts of unsworn falsification to authorities, according to CrimewatchPA.
She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Charles D. Jonas and is being held at Bucks County Correctional Facility on $30,000 bail, 10 percent.
Daniel Pierson, the man Urumova accused of the April 16 attack, was released from Bucks County Correctional Facility on Friday after charges against him were withdrawn. Following Pierson’s arrest, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Middletown Township Police Department pursued further investigation.
This involved collecting and reviewing surveillance footage from several retailers in the vicinity of the alleged attack, and a forensic analysis of Urumova’s cellphone data by a detective with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation revealed multiple inconsistencies and contradictions in Urumova’s story.
On Friday, detectives confronted Urumova with their findings, leading to her admission that she had fabricated the entire incident and that no assault had occurred in the Redner’s parking lot on April 16.
She said she named him because she had previously seen him and his truck in the shopping center and thought he was “creepy,” court documents state.
As a result of her false accusations, Pierson was wrongfully charged with multiple felonies and spent 31 days in jail before the investigation cleared him.
