Strawberry truck overturns on California freeway, creates jam
Traffic on two California highways came to a standstill when a truck carrying strawberries overturned, spilling barrels of the fruit onto the road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the truck, loaded with approximately 40,000 pounds of strawberries, blocked the northbound connector ramps to Highway 101 and Interstate 880 in San Jose on Wednesday morning, leaning precariously over a guardrail.
Crews closed the ramps to upright the truck and clear the spilled strawberries.
No injuries were reported from the accident or the resulting traffic congestion on both highways.
The ramps were reopened by early Wednesday afternoon.
